Hello there.
In the past couple or so months I’ve just been quietly streamlining all my blogs while working furiously on WATERMYTH. I’ve decided to go ahead with self-publishing and the completed (well, as complete as possible) manuscript was sent off to crit partners and blurb-givers last week.
The cover is in progress and I’m really thrilled with the work J. Kathleen Cheney has done on it. It is deliciously Gothic and she’s been doing amazing work bringing the Ferahia to life!
The timeline for this — I want to say I’m in no hurry but I started writing this novel in 2009, started querying it in 2017 and it is now 2023 — is sometime between March to June.
The novel is a cross-over between a domestic fantasy and a multi-novel epic postcolonial portal fantasy with characters who are cultural hybrids in every sense of the word.
( Essentially, I’m in your portal fantasy, doing all of the postcolonial Gothic things you know I always do.)
I’ll keep you all posted on where I am at on the pre-and-post publication timeline but for now, if you wanted to snag a free copy of WATERMYTH please do consider joining my newsletter. I’m going to be doing a video giveaway every month! I’ll be doing a lucky draw on video! 😁
Also, if you want to know more about the world of the CANTATA OF THE FOURFOLD REALMS, which I turned into a hypertext project in 1997 (but the first piece of writing about it happened in 1994), then do visit watermaidens.net!
