Hi,
Sorry I haven’t been updating my online social spaces. I just felt a need to protect my energy particularly in very trying times. I’m also trying to keep the momentum going on all writing projects (both academic and creative) while also performing what is known as “radical self-care” in reorganising the way I live my life.
On all fronts of the things I am seeking to improve, there has been a fair amount of positive progress. I’m quite satisfied with what I have accomplished in these past few weeks but I also don’t want people to worry. Hence, this post to let you know: hey, I’m okay. My creative writing momentum is really good right now, as is my music-practice. When these two things are going well, I’m at my happiest. Need I say more?
I’ll return to sporadically updating my blogs at some point — for this blog I have more than one post in drafts. But for right now, I’m focused on my supervision duties, the steep learning curve in teaching two new MA courses, and various other things that require my attention. You should see my daily to-do list!
I’ve really gone out of the habit of posting on other social internets but the benefits I’ve reaped from that : way better sleep. Which makes for a happier me. So, I’m going to stay away because I think being “ON” all of the time is really bad for my sleep-cycle and my energy levels. Introversion is my super-power and I need to protect that so I can be more present in my daily life.
Newer blog posts coming soon-ish. Posts on social internets (basically just masto and my locked insta) when I’m ready. I’m not ready yet. I’m too busy dreaming and creating. 💓
