Dear Readers,
The What The Woods Mean manuscript and the cover is nearly ready for publishing but owing to certain circumstances that I’d only become fully aware of lately, I need to postpone the publication. It will still be published, but sometime in 2026. Sorry about this, but it’s definitely necessary for this time.
The holiday period seems overall an unwise time to be publishing a book of poems written during my 20s and 30s. I understand this has been a year of multiple postponements but I’ve had multiple health crises and personal crises. Sometimes things are just not possible! But, here are the books I’m planning to indie-publish next year:
- Tower of the Rosewater Goblet — the collection of short stories, novelettes and 1 novella all set in Sesen. I have very patient blurbs-givers still waiting for the final manuscript and I’m hoping to hand it over to them in early 2026.
- Rosemirror — The novel sequel to Watermyth. This one needs a bit more work because I’m still unhappy with the pacing and structure of it. Will possibly be chonkier than Watermyth.
- What The Woods Mean — The aforementioned poetry collection.
- Prosthetic Daughter — This is a shorter novel that expands upon the short story that was published in Clarkesworld alongside the follow-up novella. I’ve turned it into a slim mosaic novel about Admiral Zhen-Juan and her time-jumping adventures along the space-time continuum.
That’s a pretty tall order! But it looks like 2026 will be my year of Books which is also quite exciting! I apologize once again for those of you who were waiting on the short story and poetry collections. I’m pretty bummed about both but I realized I needed to be both wise and safe.
I also have to repeat my constant reminders that my stories and my online postings do not grant people access to me, the person. The uptick in the creepy since Watermyth was published has been concerning. I appreciate my non-creepy readers. For the rest, please try to regulate yourselves.
Thank you for your kind attention.
