Hello and Happy Monday, everyone!
I’ve done some reshuffling of my blog posts. After thinking about how some content just seemed to be smooshed together and how I feel happier organisation-wise just having different blogs for different things — I made a new subdomain for my food and semi-personal updates. Want to know where it is? Well, when it’s finally up, I’ll make that announcement in my new (old) newsletter, Afterimages.
I used to do semi-regular Afterimages postings back in the late 90s and early 00s. That was before I registered this domain in 2002 (yes, next year will be my 20th anniversary of registering this website!). In those days, I used yahoo groups for the newsletters, then moved it to my own listserv on this domain. I don’t use self-hosted listservs anymore because they run the danger of unwanted actions by unsavoury sorts. I like tinyletter’s setup, though and am subscribed to more than one friend there.
I’m amused, and have been amused since a few years ago when people started returning to newsletters but I also appreciate how newsletters have changed. Less promotional, more personal — like writing letters to friends. So, I’ll be doing semi-regular Afterimages posts again, with updates on my creative work, my life — and whatever new content is on these websites. If I open new edited collections and projects w/ me as an editor, that will also be the first place for you to check out.
So, do sign up! https://tinyletter.com/afterimages
As to why I moved all the food/personal content — well, I realised the posts (of which there were many), were drowning out the slim cache of posts regarding my academic and writing career. Doesn’t quite fit the Scriptorium modus operandi! Don’t want people to think I just eat (and cook)! 🙂
Anyway, I also should fully utilise all these domains I’ve registered.
On an additional note, there have always been secret/easter egg posts on these sites, and reshuffled content. It’s the feature, not the bug of the mythopoetica.com family of sites. So, the best way to get an indication that an easter egg has been planted is to…sign up for the newsletter! I may even be releasing tiny hypertext games this way!
Back to work with me. Hope all are doing well!
