In a completely startling plot twist, I went to the UM uni hospital with my referral letter to get a new appointment but got vaccinated. Took a couple or so hours as I went through all the procedures of being interviewed, sharing my medical history etc, but at the end of that journey was the jab, then 30 minutes observation, then I drove safely home. I rewarded myself with mekdi since I have barely been out of the house and suddenly wanted bubur ayam, 🍔 and 🍟. Anyway, the bubur ayam is for dinner. I had the norty food while watching Sherlock. With no remorse. I have been in a state of fear and anxiety for so long and especially over the weekend because my Friday vaccination got cancelled.
No side effects yet.
My thanks to all of the kind and efficient staff and volunteers at PPUM, who managed to allay my fear and panic.
It felt surprising, but nice to be vaccinated at my alma mater for both my first (LLb. hons) degree and my MA. It made me very nostalgic!
Also, you need to know it is uncomfortable AF being double-masked underneath a face shield but I kept it on for hours. Well, apart from when both my glasses and face shield fogged up. So. Please get vaccinated and please mask (double mask if possible) yourselves. A little bit of discomfort is a small price to pay for not just keeping yourself safe but the people around you!
Even after I get my second jab I’m going to be double-masking it because this delta variant is scary, okay. Let’s do the thing! Let’s bring down the cases.
Stay safe all 💜 ♥️ ❤️
